This is a very interesting picture! I never saw a such light with rains! Pete, I suspect that you applied some HDR technics? I would be interested to have some hints on the approach you used.
@PH – No HDR on this one. The new shopping area in Liverpool has huge windows so on a night like this they put out quite a bit of light. Makes for a great photo.
I agree with the others – great shot. It’s hard enough at the best of times to take a photo of the rain. To be lucky enough to get a candid moment in frame as well takes good timing and skill.
A great mood here. Rainy days in England can seem dreary, but you’ve changed all that with the fun Liverpool crowd and a really nicely lit scene. Rainy days in England… Big Fun! Really nice shot

Wow. I had no idea that this would be as popular as it was. It was a completely insane afternoon and I was standing in the middle of the street, soaking wet looking for a shot and this was it. My gear was soaked. I did nothing to keep it dry as I wanted to get shots.
Your picture is amazing… I love this one because I walk there every evening, going back to work. And it’s often pouring of course. And being French I am not AT ALL used to girls dressed like this when it’s raining…
