Back in September I photographed a trade union protest against the cuts by the government. While it started off small the crowd grew and grew by the Anglican Cathedral before moving down Duke St towards the Albert Dock. By the time they reached the end of Duke St it was pouring down. Over by the Albert Dock a stage had been setup for speeches when the protestors arrived. People there were waving flags and making their presence known to the passing traffic on the Strand.

It was a perfectly placed protest as at the time the Lib-Dem’s were holding a conference at the Echo Arena. Some of the Lib-Dems were staying at hotels over the road which meant they had to pass by the protest. Most paid no attention to them, however one man decided to antagonise the crowd. He said some words before running away.

After that the main body of the protest arrived, still in torrential rain.
